My name is Sam Kovalyov and I am Executive Director of Haven for Humanity, the world's first Paradigm Shift Community Center. For those of you who don't know, Haven for Humanity is a place for all people of all ages, to come and learn about themselves and the world around them. Our headquarters in upstate NY is a self-sustainable health and wellness education center. Haven is dedicated to reconnecting people with their true nature, in order to bring about optimal health and wellbeing in individuals, as well as change the world for the betterment of all beings living in symbiosis in this universe. Haven is built for volunteers, by volunteers, in the hopes that the volunteers living at Haven will not have any monetary expenses, and thus can develop a community based around trust and teamwork and commeraderie. Please check out our website www.havenforhumanity.org for more info, and our facebook page www.fb.com/havenforhumanity to see up to date pictures of everything our team of volunteers has been working on since day one of the project, 5 years ago!
This 40-acre property has been designed from the ground up using the most modern and advanced techniques of permaculture, passive solar design, and LEED efficiency standards. I'll explain a little more about what this means. Our facility currently has a large garage/shop area where we hope to use tools and equipment for everything from engineering new methods of renewable energy production, to converting our cars and utility vehicles to running off a more sustainable resource than gasoline, all the way to wood working, basket weaving, and making our own furniture using sustainable materials. Haven is dedicated to sustainability, and demonstrating how humans can provide for themselves, without destroying the environment in the process. Haven's 60 foot diameter geodesic Bioenergy greenhouse is on schedule to be functioning in Spring of 2016, which is designed to provide Haven's volunteers with fresh organic food all year round, along with natural gas and electricity from a unique algae production process. Although this is the main source of Haven's sustenance, redundancy for all systems are planned to be implemented. For food production, Haven's entire 40-acre property will be converted into a low-maintenance edible food forest. This forest will be open during certain seasons to walk and eat at your leisure, as well as contain several greenhouses within it which will specialize in certain plants or growing methods (i.e. herbs, mushrooms etc.). Haven is also a permaculture research facility, and so will give back to the community by allowing certified permaculture designers to experiment with new techniques and strategies on Haven's land. For, renewable natural gas production, many tools will be employed such as, algae from our greenhouse, our biomass gasification unit, and our biodigester septic system. Haven will also employ as many examples of renewable energy production as it can on its land, to demonstrate for visitors what is possible on their land, at home. These include wind turbines, geothermal energy, solar energy, and even hydro energy.
Health and wellness community
Haven is also a place dedicated to the health and wellbeing of all life on its land. Every Haven community member will be knowledgeable in Natural health and wellbeing, (lifestyle medicine) and will offer private therapy sessions as well as group therapy sessions. These services will be offered pending the approval of Haven staff members. Some examples of therapies include, but are not limited to, Reiki energy therapy, quantum energy manipulation, Tachyon pain management therapy, play therapy, sound therapy, art and music therapy, personal health coaching, private sessions with professional nutritionists, massage therapy and more! As more volunteers participate, Haven can help more and more people
Community Volunteer Program
The volunteer corps at Haven will be responsible for cultivating Haven's land, providing educational opportunities for visitors such as classes or seminars, and to be shining examples of natural, healthy beings. The previously mentioned garage/shop area is connected to Haven's bioenergy greenhouse via its 46 foot diameter geodesic community center. This space will be provided for volunteers to host classes from, to live and relax and learn in, and to eat in! Besides a self-sustainable place to live, Haven will also have an extensive library of books about healing, life, the universe, and more! Haven will have room for indoor exercise, yoga and the like, as well as outdoor obstacle courses which we call "primal fun courses". It is up to Haven's volunteers to provide more for the community and thus more for visitors and thus more for themselves. Some examples of volunteer projects that Haven Staff would support would be art or music shows and concerts, cooking classes, discussion / meditation circles, and so on. There is no limit to the possibilities when we come together as a community. Especially as a community who understands that the health and wellbeing of each individual is of utmost importance. Afterall, if we are sick, we cannot achieve our dreams and goals, so it is important first and foremost, to know how to be healthy, and to have a support system in place who can help you to get from where you are, to where you want to be.
Peace and Love to you all!
